India’s ethanol production to rise 29% in 2012: report

In India, a USDA attaché report says that ethanol production is likely to rise this year by 29% to 2.1 billion liters as a result of higher sugar production, and therefore higher molasses production. Domestic ethanol consumption is seen rising 4.5% to 2.08 billion liters. Only about 400 million liters of the total production is expected to be blended with petrol.
