Patriot Bioenergy trialing energy beet for ethanol

In Kentucky, Patriot Bioenergy Corp. is growing 20 acres of energy beets in Whitley County to pilot feedstock production for the ethanol plant it hopes to build that will run off of biomass for its heat and power needs. The company is also seeking collaboration with University of Kentucky’s Center for Applied Energy on pilot beet trials and is looking to expand into a 99-acre former concrete plant in Williamsburg to house the ethanol plant.
