Biofuels Digest Index drops to 60.57 on ethanol, corn woes

The Biofuels Digest Index™ (BDI), a basket of public biofuels stocks, fell 1.01 percent to 60.57 as ethanol took a beating on poor corn harvest forecasts . For the day, Aventine Renewables (AVRW) fell 25.00 percent to $0.60, while Pacific Ethanol (PEIX) tumbled 9.09 percent to $0.30. Among other equities, Ceres (CERE) gained 4.56 percent to $9.40. Overall, declines led advances 10 to 3 for the day.
