Insider’s Poll says Defense Production Act will survive Republican attack
In Washington, the National Journal has circulated an Insider’s Poll and the votes are in: “GOP Won’t Stop Pentagon’s Green-Energy Push”. The poll asked insiders whether the efforts from military to implement biofuels as an energy security alternative will survive the the left wing’s push to end them; the votes came in at 71% yes, the program will survive, and 29% saying no, it won’t.
Rationale varied behind the decision. Some insiders indicated that the outcome of the Presidential election will decide the issue. Others indicated that while biofuels may not be attractive to all Republicans, their popularity in farm states will keep the Senate actively blocking the GOP’s efforts.
The poll also asked whether the Pentagon’s efforts will have any effect on the private sector; this outcome was far less decisive, with 28% voting “somewhat likely” and 28% voting “not very likely”.
