Karnataka slashes VAT on biodiesel to boost consumption

In India, the Karnataka state government may slash VAT rates on biodiesel to just 5% from the current 14% in a push to promote uptake of the fuel by consumers. The proposal has been put forward by the Karnataka State Biofuel Development Board and the state’s chief minister has agreed to consider it.
