Gevo tops weekly Biofuels Brand Index; takes Q3 lead; Joule, Coskata, BP close behind

In Florida, Gevo topped the the Biofuels Brand Index for the week of July 30-August 3, in a new weekly feature tracking biofuels producer brands exposure.

The latest weekly release, revealed the brand exposure for 45 different organizations, based on appearances each made in the more than 90 news features published that week, and reader clicks.

For the week of July 30-August, Gevo led all brands with an indexed brand exposure value of 6.62, followed by Amyris at 6.59, Syntroleum, Solazyme and Dynamic Fuels ties at 5.93, Genomatica at 5.80, Solix at 4.90, KiOR at 3.29, EdeniQ at 3.18 and Toyota rounding out the top 10 at 2.92.

For Q3 to date, Gevo is now in the lead at 24.45, followed by Coskata, Joule Unlimited, BP Biofuels, Codexis, INEOS Bio, KiOR, OriginOil, Valero and Matheson Gas.

“With companies now embarking on first commercial projects – that means big capital raises and attracting customers,” noted Digest editor Jim Lane. “Brand value now counts more than ever – and we intend to measure brand visibility and credibility, looking not only at the stories in which brands appear, but at reader engagement with those stories.”

Clicks are indexed and weighted based on overall views of the Digest’s daily newsletter (for example, Monday and Tuesday generally receive the most views), and clicks within each daily newsletter to stories featuring the various brands. Click-throughs for stories that featured multiple brands were pro-rated.

The Biofuels Brand Index is reported each Friday, based on weekly, quarterly and annual accumulated brand exposure.
