Surfboard shaper using USDA BioPreferred epoxy

In California, Danny Hess, a surfboard shaper has started using Super Sap, a USDA BioPreferred Certified liquid epoxy resin.  Hess has long worked on making his boards as green as possible, and according to an article in WIRED, he is also now experimenting with salvaged redwood and organic foam.  Hess is quoted as saying, “My ultimate goal has always been to build a surfboard from locally sourced salvaged wood that contains no petrochemicals… I don’t think we’re too far off from it.”
