US ethanol production edges up

In Washington, the EIA is reporting that US ethanol production averaged 823,000 barrels per day (b/d) – or 34.57 million gallons daily. The 4-week average for ethanol production stood at 817,000 b/d for an annualized rate of 12.52 billion gallons. Stocks of ethanol stood at 18.5 million barrels. Gasoline demand for the week averaged 381.4 million gallons daily.

On the co-products side, ethanol producers were using 12.479 million bushels of corn to produce ethanol and 91,849 metric tons of livestock feed, 81,884 metric tons of which were distillers grains.  The rest is comprised of corn gluten feed and corn gluten meal.  Additionally, ethanol producers were providing 4.28 million pounds of corn oil daily.
