Arcata city council OKs new biodiesel plant for Northern California

In California, the Arcata City Council in Humboldt County approved a plan for a biodiesel plant. The Times-Standard reports that the Council “unanimously approved environmental findings, a mitigated negative declaration and a planned development permit” after “several supporters spoke in favor of the project, saying that biodiesel is difficult to obtain in [the area].” Neighbors of the proposed project have expressed opposition to the plan.
