No Spanish import restrictions for Argentine biofuels

October 17, 2012 |

In Spain, the Ministry of Industry announced that the import restrictions on Argentine biofuels proposed earlier in the year will not be implemented due to a possible negative effect on oil prices. Spain receives approximately 50% of Argentine biofuel exports, an amount worth approximately $982.3 million in 2011. Pressure from the World Trade Organization is likely to have spurred the Spanish government’s decision.
