Bunge’s Mississippi ethanol JV suffered $39 million loss

In New York state, losses from Bunge’s ethanol joint venture Bunge-Ergon in Vicksburg, Miss. that will be mothballed by month’s end due to high corn prices were so bad that it pushed the company’s third quarter reporting for its sugar and ethanol sector to its lowest since Q410 at -$47 million. The actual impact on results from the 54 million gallon Vicksburg plant was a $39 million loss.
