Cuba opens second biodiesel plant

In Cuba, the country has opened its second biodiesel plant, and has announced that it plans to build three more plants using inedible plants as feedstocks. The new plant currently running a trial run in Sancti Spiritus, with 110 hectares of land cultivated with jatropha curcas. Cuba plans to provide 50% of its energy needs with 4 million tons of oil and gas.
