Biofuels Digest Index soars to 66.48 on fiscal cliff deal impact

The Biofuels Digest Index™ (BDI), a basket of public biofuels stocks, soared 4.09 percent to a 3-month high of 66.48 as reaction spread from Congressional action on the “fiscal cliff”. For the day, Amyris (AMRS) jumped 2.56 percent to $3.20, while Gevo (GEVO) soared 18.18 percent to $1.82 on news of a stock buy-back. Among other equities, Renewable Energy Group (REGI) rocketed up 9.04 percent to $6.39.. Overall, advances led declines 24 to zero for the day – a record for the Biofuels Digest Index in becoming the first day in the five year history of the Index to not record a single equity decline.
