In China, after successfully completing its 85-minute test flight on biofuels last week, China Eastern Airlines announced it will begin running commercial flights on 100% biofuel. The Sinopec biofuels the airline is using is produced from palm oil and from used cooking oil. The cost of turning used cooking oil into jet fuel is more expensive than turning it into regular biofuel so the flights run on palm oil based jet fuel.
