Braskem begins LDPE production with sales starting in January

In Brazil, Braskem announced the start of green low density polyethylene (LDPE) production with an estimated 66 million pounds produced annually from ethanol. The company has produced high and linear low density PE from ethanol since September 2010 and this new product will hit the market in January. During the second half of this year it also plans to launch polyethylene resins for carbonated beverage caps.
