U.S Advanced Research Project Agency Awards $97 million to Massachusetts Renewable Energy Firms

In Massachusetts, the Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) has provided $97 million to 31 projects at Massachusetts companies and universities, more than any other state besides California. The grants assist local companies in commercializing new solar, biofuel and energy storage technologies. The U.S. Congress approved a $275 million budget for ARPA-E, which was reduced to $250 million after sequestration automatic budget cuts came into effect.
