Poet-DSM Cellulosic Ethanol Plant on Track to Open in early 2014

In Iowa, Poet-DSM Advanced Biofuels’s Project Liberty, the joint-venture’s first commercial cellulosic ethanol plant, is on schedule to begin operations in early 2014. Using corn cobs, leaves, husks, and stalk, the plant will annually produce 20 million gallons of cellulosic ethanol, with an ultimate capacity of 25 million gallons. The facility’s biomass receiving and grinding building will process a daily average of 770 tons of biomass.
