Sovereign introduces new biobased sip-lid

In England, Sovereign, a leading food packaging suppliers has introduced The GoodLife bio sip-lid. Made from bagasse, the fibrous matter that remains after sugarcane or sorghum stalks are crushed to extract their juice, the sip-lid is 100% compostable and will biodegrade with general food waste. The GoodLife sip-lid can be used safely even with the hottest drinks, and fits tightly on all 90mm diameter 12oz and 16oz paper hot cups in the UK market.  Sovereign states that  tests have shown that the lid stays securely on the cup even if the cup is tipped over.
