Granite Falls Energy to take over Heron Lake BioEnergy after buying majority

In Minnesota, Granite Falls Energy has purchased majority interest in the Heron Lake BioEnergy plant and will take over the facility’s management. Both produce 60 million gallons of ethanol annually, were designed by Fagen and built by ICM. Terms of the deal were not disclosed but a $55 million purchase for Heron Lake BioEnergy fell through last year.
