Hottest Companies in Bioenergy and Chemicals: Hot 50, Hot 30, early precincts reporting
GranBio and Genomatica take the lead as the earliest precincts report in this year’s rankings.
This Friday (September 20) represents the end of voting in the 2013-14 competitions for the 50 Hottest Companies in Bioenergy and the 30 Hottest Companies in Biobased Chemicals & Materials.
It’s still premature to release vote totals for the invited international selectors and the Digest subscribers — but, since Twitter, Facebook and Photo vote totals are visible by visiting the web voting pages — there’s no harm in compiling the votes so far received via social media.
Cautionary note.
It’s still early days — plenty of time for votes to come in. Leaders to date should not be content to rest on their laurels. Those trailing have plenty of opportunity – in voting this week, or votes already received from subscribers and selectors — to make their mark in this year’s voting.
We find the social voting of great interest. Social media is a phenomenon of our times that is routinely underestimated in the scientific and technical community — but board members and CEOs ignore “reputation measures” at their peril.
Social media is innovative – not everyone recognizes its power. But as Steve Jobs said, “Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower.”
With that, here are the leaders as we hear from the earliest precincts. Voting closes this Friday, September 20, 2013 at 5pm ET. Winners will be announced live at ABLC Next in San Francisco, October 10, 2013.
