On the Move in Biofuels: Stoel Rives, Oak Ridge, MBI

Jon Wellinghoff, Chair of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), will join Stoel Rives upon completion of his service at FERC. Wellinghoff submitted his resignation to the President on May 28, but no date has been announced for his departure from FERC.

Jack D. Fellows, who oversaw a $110 billion federal science portfolio under two U.S. presidents and co-founded the U.S. Global Change Research Program integrating all federal Earth system science research programs, has been appointed director of the Climate Change Science Institute at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Martin Keller and Jeff Nichols, leaders of the Energy & Environmental Sciences Directorate and the Computing & Computational Sciences Directorate respectively, announced Fellows’ appointment.

MBI announced the addition of seven members to its technical team, enhancing the organization’s ability to support the development and commercialization of a growing portfolio of bio-based technologies. Additions to MBI’s senior technical team are Jacky Ng, Ph.D., a seasoned biotechnologist with expertise in metabolic engineering, enzymology and genomics; and Ramin Vismeh, Ph.D., an analytical chemist with expertise in biological systems. Joining MBI’s technical support team are: Marwa Adawe, B.S., entomology, MSU, Ryan Chandler, B.S., microbiology, MSU, Laurel Hills, B.A., education, MSU, Dan Pulter, B.S., human biology and microbiology, MSU and Jeff Vasquez, B.S., biochemistry, University of Michigan-Dearborn.
