In Iowa, Midwest Renewable Biofuels is asking for community support to help it get a $250,000 Mission Main Street grant from Chase. The company is looking to set up its own biodiesel production rather than to just sell directly to the Renewable Energy Group the used cooking oil it collects from Iowa, Nebraska, Illinois and Missouri. It is seeking to produce at least 1 million gallons of biodiesel per year but needs at least 250 votes on www.MissionMainStreetGrants.com/business/detail/94130 before Nov. 15 to make it to the next deadline.
