In Ohio, Leaf Energy succeeded in achieving a processing rate up to 4.4 tons per day at their pilot plant in Ohio that is using waste sugarcane as feedstock for biofuels, bioplastics and green chemicals. The trials are using enzymes from both Novozymes and Genencor to test which works best with their process. Next the Queensland University of Technology will try out the process on palm oil waste as well as other tree materials.
