CropEnergies sees EU ethanol imports weighing on Ensus’ return to market

In Germany, CropEnergies expects lower profits at its newly acquired Ensus ethanol plant in the UK due to competition from ethanol imports. ePure says it is investigating the legality of the ethanol imports that some are allegedly skirt duty rules. Importing finished blends of E5 and E10 as well as ethanol of just below 70% appear to be low tariff loopholes.
