Malaysian company develops “millennium fruit” as new biofuel feedstock

In Malaysia, ZCM Green Innovations has developed the “Millennium fruit” which the company says can produce 50 tons of fruit per acre per year, yielding 33,000 liters of oil. The edible oil can also be used in pharmaceutical and food industries as well while the nut of the fruit can be used to replace charcoal as with no treatment it can be lit and remains on fire for several minutes. The company is currently looking to protect the IP of plant for 25 years.
