Biodiesel production jumps in Poland thanks to support for local blending

January 27, 2014 |

In Poland, biodiesel production was up 11% during the third quarter of 2013 at 184,684 metric tons thanks to increased demand for diesel. The jump was also a 20% increase from the second quarter, compared to little more than a 1% increase typically seen between second and third quarters. The Polish government has an incentive program whereby the mandate is reduced 15% if at least 70% of the biofuels blended are locally produced.
