Ethanol expansion project seen boosting bottom line for Pakistani mills

January 30, 2014 |

In Pakistan, an ethanol expansion project is set to come online in March that will help secure the bottom line of the three sugar mills involved: Mehran Sugar Mills, Faran Sugar Mills and Mirpurkhas Sugar Mills. Though the project was initially set to come online in December, it is still expected that revenues from the ethanol plant will help to offset slumps in sugar prices like those the global market is experiencing now. The facility is doubling to 160 metric tons per day from a current 80 tons per day.
