German ethanol production up nearly 10% in 2013

In Germany, ethanol production was up nearly 10% in 2013, reaching a total of 672,028 metric tons. Of that, nearly 40% was produced from sugarbeets, more than 5% more than the previous year while accounting for more than 11% of the total beet crop. The rest of the ethanol production came from starch grains.
