February 6, 2014 |

In Spain, the country’s highest court has sentenced three businessmen to jail for four years each for fraud following a deal that saw biodiesel company Bionorte lose more than 150,000 euros. The offending company purchased biodiesel from Bionorte but only paid 13,000 of the 166,000 euros due, claiming insolvency and inability to pay the bill. When Bionorte went to collect 30,000 liters of biodiesel from the premises of the defaulted buyer, they could only recover 13,000 liters from the site.
