New Mexico’s corrections department gets inmates to produce biodiesel

In New Mexico, the state’s Dept. of Corrections has started a new recycling program that includes the inmates producing biodiesel that is then later sold to other state agencies. The program also produces fertilizer from food waste using worms and repurposing old wood pallets into children’s toys.
