Enerkem to embark on $8.5 million R&D for rural power production

In Canada, Enerkem is set to spend the next three years and $6 million, in addition to $1 million from the Quebec government and another $1.5 million from the federal government, to demonstrate its MSW processing technology to fuel power plants in remote areas. The expectation is that the fuel could be much cheaper than the diesel currently powering those generation stations.
