June ethanol exports rose, imports plummeted

In the US, June ethanol exports rose slightly, while imports decreased quite significantly, according to data from the Renewable Fuels Association. U.S. exports of denatured and undenatured ethanol totaled 59.9 million gallons (mg) in June, up 13% from the seven-month low in May. Canada received 56% of total exports in June, followed by Mexico (9%) and the United Arab Emirates (8.5%). Notably, Spain was a new destination for U.S. ethanol in June and the United States was a net exporter for the tenth straight month.

Meanwhile, U.S. fuel ethanol imports fell to 7.3 mg in June, down 75% from the eight-month high of 28.7 mg in May. Brazil was the leading exporter to the United States, accounting for 6.0 mg.
