Biofuels Digest Index hit 6-week high of 82.27 as ethanol soars

The Biofuels Digest Index, an index of publicly traded biofuels stocks, gained 0.48 percent to a six-week high of 82.27 as ethanol soared. For the day, Pacific Ethanol (PEIX) jumped 4.95 percent to $22.47, while Biox (BX.T) dumped 14.49 percent to $0.59. Among other equities, Sacom (SAM.MI) advanced 4.64 percent to $3.43. Overall, advances led declines 11 to 5 for the day.
