Senate finance committee chair wants level playing field for alternative fuels

In Washington, Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore. told a Senate finance committee hearing on energy tax reform that energy efficiency, affordability, pollution and sustainability should be taken into account when deciding how to tax various forms of energy. He insisted that a level playing field must be set for renewables and fossil fuels, rather than the patchwork of short-term incentives for renewables and permanent tax breaks for fossil fuels.
