Comment period open for new rail safety rules that will impact ethanol freight

In Washington, new proposed rules from the National Rail Administration regarding brake system safety standards for certain non-passenger trains have been released and the NRA is seeking comments regarding them. Rail cars that transport ethanol, due to its classification as Class 3 flammable liquid, are subject to the new proposed rules.
