China biodiesel imports plummet as traders fail to secure LOCs

September 24, 2014 |

In China, August biodiesel imports fell to 82,595 metric tons, down 29% on the month. Of the total, 77,559 tons came from Indonesia, which in and of itself is 32% down on the month. Imports from Hong Kong were significantly higher at 5,035 tons. The main reason for fewer imports appears to be the difficulty importers have in securing letters of credit.
