US ethanol imports bounce back to 3000 b/d

In the US, weekly ethanol production for the week ending 10/10/2014 averaged 37.17 million gallons daily, down 16,000 b/d from the week before. The four-week average for ethanol production stood at 889,000 b/d for an annualized rate of 13.63 billion gallons.

Imports of ethanol were 3,000 b/d, up from zero for the first time in 11 weeks.

Gasoline demand for the week averaged 379.8 million gallons daily—a six-week high. Refiner/blender input of ethanol was 885,000 b/d, meaning weekly production exactly matched U.S. blending demand. Expressed as a percentage of daily gasoline demand, daily ethanol production was 9.79%, the lowest rate in six weeks.
