Ethanol futures tumble 7% on production surge

In Illinois, Chicago ethanol futures prices tumbled 7% after the Energy Information Agency said that ethanol production during the week ending Nov. 14 averaged 970,000 barrels per day, just shy of the 972,000 barrel high seen in June. But even so, New York Harbor ethanol prices are at the highest since May thanks to rail logjams in the Midwest that is keeping ethanol from its destinations.
