Indonesia’s president asks EU president directly to lower trade barriers

November 20, 2014 |

In Indonesia, the country’s president has asked the outgoing European Commission president specifically to help lower the barriers against his country’s palm oil products, primarily to help support farmers benefit from export trade. The EU president said he would take the country’s concerns back to Brussels for discussions, but was more focused on the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement it wanted to conclude with Indonesia.
