Bio Revolution Americas to invest $200 million in Bahaman pongamia project

In the Bahamas, Bio Revolution Americas plans to invest $200 million in a pongamia biodiesel project based on an outgrower model that would spread across unused arable land on several islands. The company says it has already installed two oilseed crushing plants in the US and plans to install six more in the next two years. Each plant would produce about 50,000 gallons of oil per day at require an investment of $9 million. The largest project it is planning is for 50 million gallons per year in Texas. The Bahamas facility is likely to be sited near the deepwater port of Freeport.
