Ethanol margins slip to lowest in nine weeks

December 23, 2014 |

Across the Midwest, ethanol production margins slipped last week to the lowest in nine weeks at 58.43 cents/gal, down nearly 32%. The margin is slipping as corn price rise towards $4 a bushel and ethanol prices fall to under $1.80 a gallon.  DDGS prices are rising however, boosted by more confidence coming from Chinese buyers now that the GMO import ban has been lifted.
