Thai ethanol producers want government to maintain price gap with gasoline

In Thailand, the country’s ethanol producers association is urging the government to maintain the price gap between ethanol and gasoline to ensure continued demand for ethanol, rather than allow falling petrol prices reduce ethanol demand. If the price gap is not maintained, the association estimates it could take five to six years to return to current consumption of 3.6 million liters per day. The oil ministry was set to discuss the issue on Monday.
