In New Zealand, Z Energy has started construction on its 20 million liter green tallow-to-biodiesel plant in South Auckland. The fuel that has been developing in a University of Auckland lab has more than 90% GHG savings compared to fossil diesel and will be blended at 5%.  The company expects to have the fuel available at the pump by 2016 but will be available earlier for commercial customers.
