EPA invites comments on GHG analysis for pennygrass

In Washington, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is inviting comment on its analysis of the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions attributable to the production and transport of Thlaspi arvense (“pennycress”) oil feedstock for use in making biofuels such as biodiesel, renewable diesel, and jet fuel. Based on this analysis, the EPA anticipates that biofuels produced from pennycress oil could qualify as biomass-based diesel or advanced biofuel if typical fuel production process technologies are used.

Comments must be received on or before April 20, 2015.
