EU rapeseed stocks seen falling by half in 2015/16 on smaller crop

April 7, 2015 |

Across Europe, rapeseed stocks are expected to fall by half in 2015/16 to just 1.3 million metric tons, the lowest in eight years, following a poor crop due to a ban on long-used pesticides along with lower biodiesel demand and fewer acres planted with the crop due to shifting agricultural policy. Production is set to fall by more than 11% to 21.3 million tons.
