Southern Chemical may invest $40 million in methanol storage in Ecuador

In Ecuador, Southern Chemical Corporation may invest more than $40 million to build between six and eight 5,000 ton methanol storage tanks at its LPG terminal in Monteverde-Chorrillo on the expectation that the government will add methanol blending to its existing ethanol blending. The company also believes the terminal could act as a regional hub for methanol.
