Rapeseed prices on the rise, soybeans firm, biodiesel flat, says UFOP in German market overview

June 14, 2015 |

In Germany, rapeseed prices have risen sharply over the month on firm Paris prices and buoyant demand from processors, according to the latest data from UFOP. The group adds that supply in the cash market is scarce despite higher bids, while fears of crop failures caused by drought reduce producers’ interest in closing contracts. Demand for US soy continues brisk, and ample 2015/16 supply is putting pressure on soybean prices.

Other headlines from UFOP: Oilseed meal prices soar; supply is scarce; buyers have future need; the trend of asking prices for prompt delivery of rapeseed cake is firm; Sharply rising vegetable oil prices put a damper on buyer interest; Scope for upward movements in prices for cold pressed rapeseed oil is limited, and wholesale prices for biodiesel are virtually unchanged.    UFOP charts below tell the tale of the tape.
