European Commission says 2020 biofuel targets challenging but achievable

In Belgium, the European Commission says the European Union’s 28 member states are on track to meet the 2020 renewable energy goals, with the UK, the Netherlands and Luxembourg lagging behind the others, but the lack of movement on transport fuels is a major hurdle to meeting targets. In 2014, biofuel blending reached 5.4%, far from the 10% mandated by 2020 but the EC says the target is still achievable.
