More than 61% of Brazilian cane used for ethanol production so far in 2015

In Brazil, 58% of sugarcane harvested in the center-south region during the first half of June went towards ethanol production, and more than 61% during the crush so far, with the remainder going towards sugar. Despite the heavy focus on ethanol, production was down on the year due to 5% less cane being crushed during the period, at 1.66 billion liters compared to 1.73 billion liters last year.
