Atlantic Biodiesel Opens Biodiesel plant in Ontario

In Ontario, Atlantic Biodiesel officially opened of its new, state-of-the-art renewable fuel facility in Welland, Ontario, which will produce 170 million litres of renewable, clean-burning biodiesel and 15 million litres of high-grade glycerin per year. The facility produces biofuel suitable for cold weather applications and is situated near infrastructure that provides storage as well as shipping to a range of North American markets.  The Welland facility will bring approximately 25 local jobs and significant indirect business to the area.

“The opening of Atlantic Biodiesel’s facility is great news for Welland and Ontario,” said Andrea Kent, President of the Canadian Renewable Fuels Association. “We salute Atlantic Biodiesel’s new leadership team for their long-term commitment to biofuels and to local and national economic prosperity. They represent a fantastic and welcome addition to our membership.”

“This is an important day for Atlantic Biodiesel and for the greater Welland community,” said Michael Paszti, Chief Operating Officer of Atlantic Biodiesel. “Our world class facility is up and running. We are excited to be a part of this community and to support the local economy. We are making a commitment today; where we are able to, we’re going to source locally.”
